Comments Off Will We Ever Get There? 28% and Counting
Some days it feels like we’ve been raising support forever and we’re never going to get there. Other days it seems like the last six plus months have flown by and like getting to 28% is truly an achievement. Either way, nothing that has happened is because of us. Sure, we’ve done some of the obvious work, but all the real work in the process is God’s going. He’s the one who already has it all figured who is supporting HCJB Global for us and for how much. He’s the one who already has a prayer support team in place. He’s the one who has every detail of this whole plan worked out.
I’ve been listening to a sermon series about worry for the past couple days. I can definitely be a worrier, sometimes about the most ridiculous things (like thinking taking my kids to the beach could be a bad idea because they’ll wash away in the ocean even though I’ve NEVER heard of that happening to someone and I lived in southern California for a number of years of my childhood) and sometimes about bigger things (like how are we going to get to Singapore to tell people in Asia about Jesus if we can’t get support). Listening to the godly truths laid out in the sermons really hit my heart hard. I don’t need to worry! God already has it all figured out. That doesn’t mean we don’t have to do any work to tell people about our plans, needs, etc. It does mean that once we do, it’s not about us or up to us. It’s completely between that person/family/etc. and God. I have no need to worry about where the support will come from. I just need to be obedient to what God is calling me to and allow others the opportunity to be obedient to what God is calling them to.
