Who We Are

w up in Knoxville, TN, living in the same house until he went to college while Becky grew up a Navy brat and ended up in Tennessee halfway through high school. We met during our junior year of high school after Becky’s family moved to Knoxville. We were friends for the rest of high school and into college, became sweethearts our junior year of college, and married in January 2004. For most of our marriage we’ve lived in Murfreesboro, TN, where Toffer works for the university and Becky has held various jobs with her favorite being full time wife and mom. God blessed us with two incredible boys, Samuel and Benjamin, who we love dearly.
Our Call
God began growing a desire to serve Him full time at young ages. We both went on several stateside mission trips and eventually headed overseas. Becky spent her summers during college in Kazakhstan and Toffer spent a summer in East Asia. God really began giving each of us a heart for Asia during the time we spent there. Even before we got engaged we knew God intended for us to marry and had plans for us to serve full time. A few months after we married in January 2004 we began seriously talking and praying about our future. God opened and closed a number of doors in the following years, but we kept pursuing the call we felt. Eventually we found HCJB Global and the work and organization fit us just right. God gave us a heart and passion to see Asia illuminated with the light and love of Christ and we cannot wait to get there to be part of the work He is doing there.
People, Places, and Partners-in-Radio
Natural disasters coupled with man-made problems and deep entrenchment in false beliefs and religions have left many people in the Asia-Pacific region lost, desolate, and hopeless with little to no access to the love, grace, and hope of the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will be working with the HCJB Global team based in Southeast Asia, to help local churches and ministries throughout the region start and run Christian radio stations in their communities. The current partnerships are in Nepal, Thailand, Indonesia, and Cambodia. Indonesia in particular is very ripe for harvest with the partner stations there averaging 5 people a day coming to Christ at each station, resulting in tens of thousands of people coming to Christ each year. We get so excited knowing that people who have never even heard the name of Jesus before will know Him because of passionate people and simple radio stations.
We Need Partners, Too!
Our desire is to be moving to Southeast Asia late this summer. We are in the process of building both financial and prayer support teams. Here is how you can help:
- Learn more: Join our mailing list so you can learn more about us and what God is doing in Asia through radio.
- Join Our Prayer Team: Prayer is the lifeblood of ministry and without it we know we will not survive life on the mission field. We send a monthly email with praises and prayer requests and need people to lift them up. If you are interested in being part of our prayer team contact Becky. We are always appreciative of people who desire to support us through prayer.
- Financial Support: We are required to raise 100% of the support schedule HCJB Global prescribed for our family before we leave for the field. The total is $6,558/month. The blue bar graph on the top right indicates our current level of support and the chart below shows the breakdown of our monthly support. We are registered to attend training in August and the mission would like for us to have all of our support in before training so we can head to Asia shortly thereafter.
